Packaged food items come in many varieties, including cakes, jams, dried seaweed, candies, etc. These are commonly purchased items, especially during holidays, when consumption of packaged foods increases significantly. Businesses recognize this trend and proactively import many new food products to supply the market. However, not everyone knows the necessary procedures for importing, the import tax rates, the regulations governing these goods, and many other questions. Therefore, I will share the steps involved in importing packaged food to help you understand the necessary processes and prepare effectively for importing a shipment.
Process for importing packaged food:
B1: Import samples into Vietnam
B2: Once you have the sample, take it to a testing agency to have the product tested.
B3: Proceed with preparing the product registration dossier.
B4: Once the announcement is made, the goods will be shipped to Vietnam.
B5: Goods arrive at the port, customs procedures and food safety inspection are carried out.
B6: Customs clearance, transport goods to warehouse
It's not too difficult, right? But in practice, there will be quite a few difficulties due to document errors, so to save time, you should choose a company with experience. If you have any questions or need assistance with the procedures for importing packaged food, please contact me.
