Steps you need to know for importing forklifts
Most forklifts in Vietnam are imported, primarily from countries like China, South Korea, and Japan. However, importing a forklift isn't something everyone knows how to do. Below, I'll share the steps to import a forklift into Vietnam, based on my practical experience. This will help answer questions such as: What are the import policies for this item? Are there any government quality checks? What are the import taxes and HS codes?
Here's a summary of the forklift import process for your easy understanding:
- Step 1: Register for quality inspection of forklifts.
- B2: Complete customs procedures for the shipment.
- B3: Bring the goods back to the warehouse.
- B4: Officials from the vehicle registration authority come down to the warehouse to inspect the samples.
- B5: The shipment has received certification.
Although the five steps above may seem simple, they can be quite challenging when you actually start doing them. If you don't have experience with this type of product, it's best to hire a logistics company that has experience to handle it quickly and minimize costs.
