Chicken feet import policy

The procedures for importing chicken feet are regulated in the following legal documents:
• Circular No. 103/2015/TT-BTC dated July 1, 2015,
• Circular No. 14/2015/TT-BTC dated January 30, 2015
• Circular No. 25/2016/TT-BNNPTNT dated June 30, 2016;
• Circular 24/2017/TT-BNNPTNT dated November 15, 2017,
• Circular 38/2015/TT-BTC dated March 25, 2015; amended and supplemented by Circular 39/2018/TT-BTC dated April 20, 2018
• Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018,
• Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP dated April 14, 2017
• Decree 128/2020/ND-CP dated October 19, 2020.

According to the aforementioned legal documents, chicken feet are not on the list of prohibited imported goods. However, when carrying out import procedures for chicken feet into Vietnam, the following points should be noted:
• Frozen chicken feet, pre-processed but not marinated, and packaged for retail sale, must undergo quarantine inspection upon import.
• For marinated or packaged chicken feet sold individually, a self-declaration of food safety is required.
• Imported goods intended for export production or sale to export processing zones do not require animal quarantine.
• When importing chicken feet, the goods must be labeled according to Decree 43/2017/ND-CP;
• Identifying the correct HS code is crucial for determining the correct tax and avoiding penalties.
