Computer import policy

When handling the import procedures for desktop computers , you must first understand the import policy for that item. The import policy for various types of computers is regulated in the following legal documents.

• Circular 38/2015/TT-BTC dated March 25, 2015; amended and supplemented by Circular 39/2018/TT-BTC dated April 20, 2018.
• Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018
• Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP dated April 14, 2017
• Decree 128/2020/ND-CP dated October 19, 2020;
• Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BTTTT dated May 31, 2023.

According to the aforementioned legal documents, computers are not on the list of prohibited imports. However, the following points should be noted when importing this item:
• Used electronic goods are on the list of prohibited imports.
• Computers with integrated CPUs or CPUs must undergo quality testing in accordance with Circular 18/2022/TT-BTTTT.
• Individual computer monitors must have energy efficiency labels.
• When importing computers, goods must be labeled according to Decree 43/2017/ND-CP;
• Identifying the correct HS code is crucial for determining the correct tax and avoiding penalties.
