Import procedures for children's bicycles

IMPORT POLICY FOR CHILDREN'S BICYCLES

The procedures for importing children's bicycles are regulated in the following legal documents.

• Circular 23/2015/TT-BKHCN dated November 13, 2015,
• Circular 103/2015/TT-BTC dated July 1, 2015,
• Circular 38/2015/TT-BTC dated March 25, 2015; amended and supplemented by Circular 39/2018/TT-BTC dated April 20, 2018
• Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018
• Circular 24/2018/TT-BVHTTDL dated August 23, 2018;
• Decision 18/2019/QD-TTg dated April 19, 2019.

According to the above documents, children's bicycles are not on the list of prohibited imports. However, when importing this item, the following points should be noted:

• Used children's bicycles are classified as goods that need to be imported.
• Children's bicycles are classified as toy bikes if the seat height does not exceed 435 mm.
• When importing bicycles, the goods must be labeled according to Decree 43/2017/ND-CP;
• Identifying the correct HS code is crucial for determining the correct tax and avoiding penalties.
