Procedures for importing clothing are regulated in the following legal documents:

• Decree 195/2013/ND-CP dated November 21, 2013,

• Circular 65/2017/TT-BTC dated June 27, 2017,

• Circular 38/2015/TT-BTC dated March 25, 2015; amended and supplemented by 39/2018/TT-BTC dated April 20, 2018 • Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018

• Circular 01/2020/TT-BTTTT dated February 7, 2020;

• Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP dated April 14, 2017,

• Decree 128/2020/ND-CP dated October 19, 2020.

According to the above legal documents, clothing is not on the list of prohibited import goods. However, when importing this item, the following points must be noted:

• Imported clothing with a famous protected brand must have a letter of authorization from the manufacturer;

• When importing clothing, goods must be labeled according to 43/2017/ND-CP;

• Determine the correct HS code to determine the correct tax and avoid penalties.

• Determining the HS code is the most important step when doing procedures to import fashion clothing.
