CMA CGM and Maersk Realign Far East - East Coast South America Service (SEAS3/ASAS2)
Shipping lines CMA CGM and Maersk have announced a strategic adjustment to their SEAS3/ASAS2 service connecting the Far East and the East Coast of South America. The new itinerary will add calls at Hong Kong and Itajaí, while omitting Ho Chi Minh City (Cai Mep) to optimize network efficiency. (1).webp)
Shipping giants CMA CGM and A.P. Moller – Maersk have officially announced the realignment of their joint SEAS3/ASAS2 service, which connects the Far East with the East Coast of South America (ECSA).
Port Call Changes: Two Additions, One Withdrawal from Vietnam
Under the revised service configuration, the partners will implement significant adjustments to the voyage itinerary:
• Additions: The ports of Hong Kong and Itajaí (Brazil) will be introduced to the port rotation.
• Omission: The Ho Chi Minh City port (Cai Mep area) in Vietnam will be withdrawn from the service schedule.
The service is currently operated by a fleet of 11 vessels, with an average capacity of approximately 7,000 TEU per vessel.
New Rotation
The updated port rotation will be as follows:
Shanghai – Hong Kong – Shenzhen (Shekou) – Singapore – Santos – Itajaí – Singapore – Shanghai.
According to the carriers, this adjustment aims to refine port coverage and optimize network efficiency on the Far East – East Coast South America trade lane.
