CMA CGM Announces New FAK Rates for Asia - North Europe Trade
CMA CGM has announced the application of new FAK rates for the Asia - North Europe route, effective January 15, 2026. Accordingly, the base rate is set at USD 3,800/FEU, applicable from a wide range of Asian origins to the entire North Europe region. (1).webp)
CMA CGM has officially announced the implementation of new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for cargo moving from Asia to North Europe. These new tariffs will be effective from January 15, 2026 (based on date of loading in the origin ports) until further notice.
Details of Base Rates
According to the revised tariff, base port-to-base rates are established as follows:
• USD 2,100 per 20-foot General Purpose container (20’GP).
• USD 3,800 per 40-foot container, including General Purpose (40’GP), High Cube (40’HC), and Reefer containers (40’ reefer).
The carrier also noted that outports will remain subject to standard Terminal Additional Origin (TAO) and Terminal Additional Destination (TAD) charges.
Geographical Scope
These updated FAK rates apply to shipments originating from all Asian ports, including Japan, Southeast Asia, and Bangladesh.
Destinations cover all North European ports, including the United Kingdom and the full range from Portugal to Finland and Estonia.
Applicable Commodities
This tariff applies to a diverse range of cargo types, including:
• Dry cargo
• Out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo
• Paying empties
• Reefer cargo
CMA CGM confirmed that the revised FAK rates will remain valid from January 15, 2026, until further notice, based on the date of loading at origin ports.
