CMA CGM Launches TVI Service Directly Connecting Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia with Southeast India and Sri Lanka
CMA CGM has officially comprehensively upgraded its IEX2 loop into the new TVI service, establishing a direct link between Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia with Southeast India and Sri Lanka. The maiden voyage is scheduled for December 22, 2025, offering market-leading transit times.
CMA CGM has just announced a strategic move to strengthen its Intra-Asia shipping network. Accordingly, the IEX2 service has been fully restructured and relaunched under a new name: Thailand Vietnam India EC (TVI).
The TVI service is designed to expand network coverage from Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia to Southeast India and Sri Lanka. This upgrade delivers faster connections, improved flexibility, and expanded market access for business supply chains.
CMA CGM asserts that TVI offers a faster and more reliable solution for shipping imports into India or Sri Lanka, as well as exports from Chennai.
Port Rotation and Effective Voyage
The Port Rotation for the TVI service will call at the following key ports: Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Singapore – Port Klang – Chennai – Colombo – Laem Chabang.
The service will officially commence with the Effective Voyage of the vessel m/v “CNC JAGUAR”, with an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) at Laem Chabang on December 22, 2025.
CMA CGM has highlighted the superior advantages of this new service loop for shippers:
• Direct Asia – India – Sri Lanka Connectivity: Provides seamless coverage from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia directly to Chennai and Colombo, helping shippers access key markets without facing transshipment delays.
• Market-Leading Transit Times: This is the most significant highlight, enabling cargo transport from Vung Tau to Chennai in just 10 days – currently the best transit time available on the market.
• Enhanced Intra-Asia Connectivity: Offers direct connections from Laem Chabang to Vung Tau and from Vung Tau to Singapore/Port Klang, ensuring smoother cargo flows between Asia's major manufacturing hubs.
• Alternative Export Options from Chennai: Exports from Chennai will benefit from efficient relay via the Colombo transshipment hub to connect into CMA CGM's global network, providing access to more destinations with shorter overall transit times.
• Competitive Transit Times Back to Asia: Provides fast connections from Chennai/Colombo back to Laem Chabang and Vung Tau.
