The shipping giant recently held a formal naming ceremony for its latest 15,000 TEU dual-fuel methanol-powered vessel, the CMA CGM EUGENIE. The event marks a significant milestone in the Group’s green fleet expansion strategy and its ongoing commitment to enhancing capacity across key maritime trade lanes.
The ceremony was attended by Captain Svilen Santana, the vessel’s master; Professor Bai Xiang’en from Shanghai Maritime University, who served as Godmother, along with Esra Bora, General Manager of CMA CGM China.

Equipped with cutting-edge dual-fuel technology, the CMA CGM EUGENIE will be deployed on the Phoenician Express (BEX2) service, linking strategic regions including Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. The deployment of this vessel is a pivotal step toward strengthening regional connectivity while actively supporting the seamless flow of global commerce.
