Container throughput at China's main ports up 15% in April
Container throughput at China's eight major ports rose 15% year-on-year at the end of April, with container exports up 17.5%, according to statistics from the China Seaports Association.

Ningbo-Zhoushan and Shenzhen ports achieved growth rates of more than 30%.
Cargo throughput through major coastal ports increased by 10.8% year-on-year while international trade cargo volume increased by 10.9%.
Crude oil shipments at major coastal ports increased slightly by 20.8% over the same period last year. Yantai Port achieved a growth rate of more than 90%. Inventories at the port increased by 25.4% over the same period last year.
Metal ore shipments at major Chinese ports increased slightly by 2.2% while port inventories increased by 6.1%.
Cargo throughput and container throughput at three major ports on the Yangtze River, namely Nanjing, Wuhan and Chongqing, increased by 29.6% and 62.1% respectively over the same period. period last year.
In April, China's exports and imports increased by 22.2% and 32.2%, respectively. Cargo throughput through major coastal ports increased by 8.8% year-on-year while container throughput at eight major ports increased by 15.1%.
