Container throughput of Chinese ports decreased by 10.6% from January to February this year
China's Ministry of Transport has published port output figures for the January-February period of this year, showing a decline in many major ports, especially in container volumes.

In the first two months of this year, China's cargo volume was 1.87 billion tons, and container volume was 34.48 million TEUs, down 6% and 10.6% respectively from the previous year.
The top ten container ports are Shanghai port (5.9m teu, down 10.7%), Ningbo-Zhoushan port (4.06m teu, down 10.7%), Shenzhen port (3.5m teu, down 12.8%). %), Qingdao Port (3.17m teu, down 1.4%), Guangzhou port (2.85m teu, down 13.7%), Tianjin port (2.28m teu, down 3.9%), Xiamen port (1.56m teu, down 8%), Dalian port (1.06m teu, down 24%), Suzhou port (790,000 teus, down 23.9%,), Lianyugang port (770,000teu, down 2.2%) , all major ports have reduced container volumes in the first two months.
The top ten cargo ports are Ningbo-Zhoushan port (163.31 million tons, down 1.8%), Tangshan port (96.19 million tons, down 10.1%), Qingdao port (92.68 million tons, increased by 1.7%), Shanghai port (88.12 million tons, down 14.7%), Guangzhou port (82.23 million tons, down 6.6%), Rizhao port (78.97 million tons, an increase of 4 , 6%), Suzhou port (74.63 million tons, down 11.9% domestic port), Tianjin port (72.08 million tons, up 8%), Yantai port (61.49 million tons, down 1, 8%), Dalian port (56.04 million tons, up 4.2%). Due to the outbreak of Chinese ports COVID-19 has faced serious challenges and a decline in cargo volumes since the beginning of this year. After successfully preventing and controlling the outbreak, China has promoted work and resumed production from March, however, the increasing spread of viruses in importing countries is another risk for the transport industry.
