Maersk Temporarily Suspends Operations at Haifa Port (Israel) Due to Regional Security Concerns
Maersk has temporarily suspended operations at the Port of Haifa (Israel) to ensure the safety of its crew and cargo, marking a new development in the context of regional geopolitical tensions.

The world's leading shipping company Maersk has announced the decision to temporarily suspend sailings and cargo handling at the Port of Haifa, Israel.
The move comes after Maersk carefully analyzed risk reports on threats related to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, in particular the potential risks of calling at the port and the impact on crew safety.
Maersk stressed that the safety and security of its crew and operations are its top priorities. This suspension is a proactive measure to protect its employees, assets and customers' cargo in the face of growing regional instability.
The shipping company is in close contact with customers who may be affected by this decision to explore alternative shipping options to minimize disruption to the supply chain. Maersk said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and is ready to review the decision as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so.
Meanwhile, Maersk said it will continue to operate the port of Ashdod and is arranging alternative solutions for customers. Domestic shipping services in Israel will continue to be provided based on the current setup with local partners.
