Port of Rotterdam sets new tariffs for the next three years
The Association of Rotterdam Shipbrokers (VRC) and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed an agreement on port tariff schedules for the next three years.

The Association of Rotterdam Shipbrokers (VRC) and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed an agreement on the port fee schedule for the next three years, after constructive consultation from Deltalinqs, the representative of the business community in Mainport Rotterdam.
The tariffs will be applied to both ocean and inland shipping in line with inflation and recent market developments, according to a statement.
Port tariffs for 2022 go up to 2.5%, while for the next two years it goes up to 2.4% and 2.3%.
The port authority has also announced that it will apply a number of port fee discount programs for both ships and regular customers.
“In order to provide substance to this drive, discussions will take place on how the exchange of data and further digitalisation can be used in an even more targeted way to increase the efficiency of the port,” said Kees Groeneveld, President of VRC.
In addition, Allard Castelein, president and CEO of the Port Authority of Rotterdam, said, “We have managed to arrive at tariffs and discounts per segment that are competitive in comparison to the other ports, that represent market developments in the relevant segment and that reflect the social costs and benefits."
The discussion partners including the VRC, the Port of Rotterdam Authority and Deltalinqs, which represent 95% of all logistics companies, ports and businesses in the Netherlands, have also agreed to look at how the port of Rotterdam can perform further expand its sustainable shipping operations.
