Schedule reliability of shipping lines continues to improve in October

Sea-Intelligence has published Global Liner Performance (GLP) report No. 135, with schedule reliability figures through October 2022. The report is fairly comprehensive and includes reliable schedules on 34 different trade routes and over 60 carriers.
Global schedule reliability improved by 6.6 percentage points monthly in October 2022 and reached 52.0%. The average delay for late arrivals has also improved significantly compared to the beginning of the year. In October 2022, the average delay once again improved, further reducing -0.31 monthly days to 5.56 days. The average lag is now consistently below the 6-day mark and close to the level of 2020.
With scheduled reliability of 56.4%, Maersk was the most reliable carrier in October 2022, followed by MSC with 52.7%. CMA CGM is the only other carrier above 50%. The remaining firms are very close to each other, all have 40%-50% reliability. Wan Hai recorded the lowest schedule reliability of 41.6%. The top 14 carriers all recorded monthly and yearly improvements in schedule reliability. In fact, all of the shipping lines that offer this service recorded double-digit year-over-year improvement, with nine of those lines recording an improvement of more than 20 percentage points.
