Sea-Intelligence: Global Schedule Reliability Drops to 51.4% in September
Global schedule reliability in September 2024 dropped to 51.4%, with Maersk leading the pack with the highest reliability, while Wan Hai trailed behind with the lowest.(1).webp)
In September, global schedule reliability among ocean carriers fell 1.2% from August to 51.4%, according to Sea-Intelligence's latest Global Liner Performance (GLP) report.

"While schedule reliability in 2024 has stabilized within the 50%-55% range, it’s been on a slight downward trend since the May peak," the Danish maritime data analytics company noted.
In addition, the average delay of vessels increased by 0.21 days month-on-month to 5.67 days in September - the third-highest level ever for the month, behind only the highs during the 2021-2022 pandemic.

Danish Maersk remained the most reliable of the top 13 in September, with a schedule reliability of 55.5%. Only Maersk and French carrier CMA CGM, ranked second with 50.9%, broke the 50% mark this month.
The remaining 11 carriers were all in the 40%-50% range, with Taiwan’s Wan Hai rated the least reliable at 40.4%.
Sea-Intelligence analysts also noted that only four of the top 13 carriers recorded an improvement from the previous month, with Singapore’s PIL posting the biggest increase, up 4.5 percentage points; while South Korea’s HMM posted the biggest decline, down 7.8 percentage points.
Compared to the same period last year, none of the top 13 carriers recorded an improvement in schedule reliability, with MSC and Wan Hai seeing the biggest declines, both down 21.5 percentage points.
