Shipping company ONE issues its first electronic Bill of lading
Ocean Network Express (ONE), the world's sixth largest container carrier by TEU capacity, has released its first Electronic Bill of Lading.
Ocean Network Express (ONE), the world's sixth largest container carrier by TEU capacity, has released its first Electronic Bill of Lading. As part of its digital initiative, the company partnered with essDOCS technology specialist specializing in research and development for paperless transactions.
ONE went into operation by using electronic bill of lading CargoDocs (a product of essDOCS) for a consignment of synthetic rubber shipped by containers from Russia to China.
The transaction related to SIBUR International GmbH as shipper and SIBUR International Trading (Shanghai) as the final consignee, with Novo Orient Agency acting as agent at the port of loading in Russia, and SIPG Logistics company as agent of SIBUR company at the port of loading in China and UNISCO company is the agent of shipping line ONE.
In the near future, it plans to allow its customers to use electronic bill of lading at the regional level and then globally starting in the second quarter of 2020, as part of an initiative of "ONE E-commerce”.
“Speeding up ONE's digital efforts is the key to proactively addressing customer difficulties such as the time to wait for the bill of lading,” said Richard Richard Hiller, Head of Sales, Customer Service. and ONE Global Document states. "Our collaboration will enable ONE to provide its customers with improved services through digitization."
