Top 10 Vietnam's largest pepper export markets in the first 5 months of 2020
In May 2020, pepper exports to most major markets decreased compared to May 2019, including: the United States, Germany, India, Egypt, UAE, Netherlands, Russia, Pakistan, Philippines; In contrast, the export of pepper to the UK market increased to 54.4% in volume and 41.3% in value.
Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam) said that pepper price in June 2020 dropped again after reaching the peak of 60,000 dong / kg on May 29, 2020. People have limited their sales to wait for prices to rise, so importers have shifted to the Brazilian market with lower asking prices.
It is estimated that pepper export in June 2020 reached 25 thousand tons, valued at US $ 56 million, down 17.6% in volume and 8% in value compared to May 2020, compared to June / 2019 decreased by 18.5% in volume and 25.5% in value. Generally for the first 6 months of 2020, export of pepper reached 172 thousand tons, worth US $ 365 million, down 2.9% in volume and 19% in value over the same period in 2019.
The average export price of pepper in June 2020 reached US $ 2,240 / ton, up 11.6% compared to May 2020, but down 8.6% compared to June 2019. Generally for the first 6 months of 2020, the average export price of pepper reached US $ 2,127 / ton, down 16.6% over the same period in 2019.

In the first 5 months of 2020, exports of pepper to some key markets increased over the same period in 2019, including: the US increased by 3.7%, reaching 24.7 thousand tons; Germany increased by 1.5%, reaching 5.8 thousand tons; Egypt increased by 42.5%, reaching over 6 thousand tons; Russia increased by 34.2% to reach 2.9 thousand tons; He increased 26.8%, reaching 2.5 thousand tons. In contrast, pepper exports to markets decreased, such as: India, UAE, Netherlands, Pakistan, Philippines.
