5. Xiamen Port
Xiamen Port (Port of Xiamen), is an important deep-water port located on Xiamen Island, the adjacent mainland coast, and along the mouth of the Mekong River in southern Fujian , China. This is one of the backbone ports of the Asia-Pacific region.
Xiamen Port is ranked as the 8th largest container port in China and the 17th in the world. This is the 4th port in China capable of receiving 6th generation large container ships. In 2013, Xiamen handled 191 million tons of cargo, including 8.08 million TEU containers.
On August 31, 2010, Xiamen Port combined with neighboring Zhangzhou Port to form the largest port in Southeast China.
The port covers twelve areas including Heping, Dongdu, Haiti, Shihushan, Gaoqi and Liuwudian.
Xiamen Port is part of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road that runs from the coast of China to Singapore, in the southernmost direction of India to Mombasa, from there across the Red Sea via the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean, to the region Upper Adriatic to central Trieste in northern Italy with its connections to Central Europe and the North Sea.

6. Common fees and surcharges in sea container transportation
- O/F (Ocean Freight)
As Ocean freight; is the amount that the charterer has to pay to the shipping line or freight forwarding company for the transport to bring the goods to the destination and ready to deliver to the consignee.
- Documentation fee
Documentary fees are collected by the shipping line/forwarding company when issuing documents related to the shipment being shipped.
- Bill of Lading fee:
Is the fee to issue bill of lading, which is collected by the shipping line/forwarding company. Bill of lading (commonly referred to as Bill)issued by the carrier or his representative to the shipper as proof that the carrier has received the goods and undertakes the carriage from the place of receipt to the destination for delivery to the consignee.
- Handling fee:
Handling fee is the agent fee to monitor the delivery and transportation of shipment as well as declare the manifest with the customs office before the vessel arrives at the port.
- THC (Terminal Handling Charge)
THC is the loading and unloading surcharge at the port, which is the fee collected on each container to offset the costs of cargo handling activities at the port such as: loading and unloading, gathering containers from CY to the jetty, etc. In fact, this is a fee charged by the port. regulations, shipping lines pay for and then collect from shippers (shippers and consignees)
- CIC (Container Imbalance Charge):

- EBS (Emergency Bunker Surcharge):

- AMS (Automatic Manifest System)
AMS is an automatic customs declaration fee for the importing country (usually USA, Canada, China). This is the fee to declare the details of the goods before the goods are loaded on the vessel to be transported to the US.
- BAF (Bunker Adjustment Factor):
BAF is a fuel fluctuation surcharge collected by shipping lines from shippers to offset costs incurred due to fuel price fluctuations. Equivalent to the term FAF (Fuel Adjustment Factor).
- CAF (Currency Adjustment Factor)
CAF is an exchange rate fluctuation surcharge collected by shipping lines from shippers to offset costs incurred due to foreign exchange rate fluctuations…

DDC is the delivery charge at the port of destination. This fee is collected by the shipping line to cover the costs of unloading the goods from the vessel, arranging the container in the terminal (terminal) and the entrance fee to the port.
- PCS (Port Congestion Surcharge)
