ONE Launches Mediterranean Africa Express (MAX) Service, Strengthening West Africa–Mediterranean Connectivity

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has officially introduced the Mediterranean Africa Express (MAX) service, further expanding direct connections between West Africa and the carrier's global shipping network. According to ONE, the weekly service commenced operations on 7 July 2026.

Service Rotation and Transshipment Network

The MAX service will operate on the following port rotation:

Algeciras – Tangier – Dakar – Tema – Lekki – Abidjan – Algeciras

According to ONE, the new service provides direct links between major West African ports and the carrier's two strategic Mediterranean transshipment hubs.

Via Algeciras and Tangier, cargo from West Africa will gain seamless access to key global markets, including the Far East, Northern Europe, the Indian Subcontinent, North America, and Latin America, through ONE's extensive global service network.

Enhancing Supply Chain Connectivity

The launch of the MAX service reflects ONE's strategy to strengthen its presence in West Africa while meeting growing demand for reliable and well-connected liner shipping services.

By integrating with ONE's global network, the new service offers customers greater routing flexibility, enabling more efficient cargo flows, a wider range of shipping options, and improved transit times to international markets.

Commenting on the company's growth strategy, Hosaka, Managing Director of ONE Europe, said the carrier will continue investing in the African market. He noted that the Mediterranean Africa Express (MAX) service will play a key role in strengthening connectivity between West Africa and major international trade lanes while providing customers with easier access to ONE's global shipping network.
