Yang Ming enhances intra-Asia services with the launching new ships
Yang Ming will be improving the Japan - Taiwan - South China (JTS) service with the addition of calls to Port Kelang, Singapore and South Manila ports, effective October 21.

The Taiwanese shipping line aims to expand its market in Southeast Asia and believes that through the integration of the ports of Kaohsiung, Port Kelang and Singapore, the service will complement its existing services in the region and connect easily with its global service network.
JTS adjusted port rotation will be Nagoya - Tokyo - Chiba - Yokohama - Keelung - Kaohsiung - Hong Kong - Shekou - Port Kelang - Singapore - Manila South Port - Kaohsiung - Hong Kong - Shekou - Xiamen - Nagoya.

Yang Ming, which aims to improve JTS's service efficiency, will launch its new 2,800TEU container vessel, YM Capacity, on service from October 28 following a naming ceremony at CSBC's Kaohsiung shipyard today, October 20.
YM Capacity, the fifth of its ten newly built 2,800TEU full-load vessels, has adopted the Sea Sword Bow design to improve energy efficiency and optimize hydrodynamic performance, according to a statement.
Along with the installation of the scrubber system, the new building has the benefit of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving costs, and equipped with a Master Tracking System that allows for safe and efficient navigation.
Yang Ming believes the carrier will be more competitive in environmental protection and fleet management with its new ship's global satellite broadband and network layout capabilities.
YM Capacity was one of the first vessels to receive the DNV GL SmartShip designation, which included "SmartShip OE (Enhanced Operations)", "PE (Enhanced Performance)" and "Smartship H, Et, I" designation of the CR Classification Association.
The ceremony was chaired by Taiwan company president Cheng Cheng-Mount and CSBC president Cheng Wen-Lon, while Chiu Tseng-Yu, vice president Yang Ming, was invited to formally name the new vessel.
